The Hindu religion easily accommodates diverse thoughts, beliefs, and traditions. Hence relegates radical influences and intolerance amongst its followers. Being accommodative and open without any core principles of religious practices it is difficult to define. Nevertheless in modern India it promotes peace and tranquility and oneness with God. The freedom of expression has spurred an evolutionary process and accommodated diversity. The belief in Karma that influences reincarnation is central to all Hindus.
The religious texts revolve around philosophy, mythology and theology. The main holy books are Ramayana and Bhagwat Gita - the song of the Lord as it manifests in epic Mahabharata. The Vedic texts, root of Hinduism are hardly read but the traditions are subconsciously ingrained in way of life of every Hindu.
